Production Planner (m/f/d)

Department: Supply Planning / Production Planning Team
Location: Erfurt
This position is initially a fixed-term position, but offers the prospect of becoming permanent.

 

The role is responsible for planning and controlling the manufacturing flow, optimizing production performance and cycle times, maintaining planning and execution systems, and driving continuous improvements across manufacturing processes. 

 

Your Role:

Production Planning & Control 

  • Monitor and track manufacturing progress throughout the entire production flow. 
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve prioritization and control rules to ensure an efficient material and production flow, while improving cycle times and manufacturing performance. 
  • Coordinate and prioritize time-critical customer orders and production lots. 
  • Analyze and resolve issues within production planning and manufacturing control systems. 
  • Maintain and further develop production-related master data, particularly process and cycle time parameters. 
  • Prepare analyses, reports, and performance evaluations to support operational and production-related decision-making. 
  • Support and further develop existing RFID-based tracking solutions as well as future material handling and transportation systems. 
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) owners, production teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders. 

 

Process Development & Projects 

  • Participate in or lead projects aimed at improving production planning and manufacturing processes. 
  • Optimize the interaction between production planning, order management, and manufacturing operations. 
  • Develop and enhance concepts for end-to-end traceability of production orders and materials. 
  • Define, maintain, and further develop standards, procedures, and governance rules for production control systems. 
  • Prepare and deliver training sessions for users of planning and manufacturing systems. 
  • Maintain and continuously improve process documentation, procedures, and work instructions. 

 

Your Profile 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Production Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field. 
  • Initial or several years of professional experience in production planning, manufacturing control, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations. 
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), scheduling, dispatching, or comparable production control systems. 
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for working with data, performance metrics, and process optimization. 
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Structured, self-driven, and solution-oriented working style. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across different functions and organizational levels. 
  • Experience participating in or leading projects is considered an advantage. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with reporting, analytics, or business intelligence tools is a plus. 
  • Good written and spoken German and English language skills.
